Think Different - Think Pink!Tina

Go Free® pants is proud to dedicate our October newsletter to two things - the fight against breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the amazing life of Steve Jobs, a genius among geniuses and a man who dared to dream, who dared to "think different".

While watching the football games last weekend, it was so great to see all those burly beat-your-chest men wearing pink!  Pink sweat towels thrown over their shoulders, pink chin and mouth guards, pink shoes, pink gloves - pink was all over the football field in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.  I really do love men in pink, but to see them doing it as their contribution to raising awareness for a cure for breast cancer was just fabulous!  Thank you to the men who will continue this very cool trend this month, and hopefully all year long.

Our world lost an amazing man this month.  The life of Steve Jobs was remarkable, and he had to fight his own personal battle with cancer that unfortunately cut his contributions to our world short, but oh my... the contributions he made during his 56 years changed the world in many ways. I hope each of us will be inspired by his example and live our lives in pursuit of our passion, following our hearts, and daring to dream big.  Once you find your dream, your passion, your purpose, your crazy idea, your "imagine if...", do as Steve Jobs did and find a friend to help you turn that dream into a reality.   When I invented the design forGo Free® pants, it was totally unplanned and by accident.  I simply did what my girlfriends had encouraged me to do which was try a thong and going "commando"-wearing no undergarment at all.  Tried the thong - no thank you.  Tried commando - loved it - but hated the cross seam more than ever.  Poof - the design for the smooth cotton panel sewn into the pant pops into my head.  "Now what?!"  I dared to dream that if I did something with this idea, having no previous apparel experience, I could change the way women buy pants.  I envision the day when women will laugh out loud at the thought of wearing a thong "back in the day".

So...what is your dream?  How would you finish the sentence, "Imagine if...."?  I am excited to be a part of a group in my hometown that is doing just that.  Click here for the link to our "Think Big Dream Big" group.  I encourage you to start a similar group in your city.  You may be surprised at how many people, especially in these depressed economic times, are daring to imagine a better life, a better way to do things, a better tomorrow unlike anything we have ever seen before.  Did you know that many of the important inventions of all time were invented during down economic times?  That means NOW is the time for your creativity to take flight.  You can change the world.  Yes, YOU!  Dare to "think different" as Steve Jobs said.  Amazing things will follow!

As you look at the beautiful fall leaves, feel the cool crisp autumn days, admire the warm cozy look this fall fashion season brings, remember to raise up the women fighting breast cancer, those who are working hard to find a cure for breast cancer, and the men who dare to wear pink.  To everyone who has been touched by breast cancer, and everyone who has been touched by the genius of Steve Jobs...dare to dream of a day when we find a cure for cancer, and dare to dream of a day when to "think different" is an every day practice.

As always, enjoy the freedom to GO FREE!

Steve Jobs Pink RibbonI have taken the liberty of wrapping Steve Jobs in the loving embrace of the Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon.  I hope Steve is pleased that I dared to "think different".
